Modeling Tips for New Models!
When setting up your modeling audition make sure to get all of the client details the moment you set up the appointment. Sometimes it helps that it is written. Nowadays emails work best because you have it written and proof from the client that audition was set up. Make sure you always follow up and the client knows you will be attending the DC Auditions. Next, make sure the photos you bring to the audition are always appropriate. No matter what or who the client is, or auditioning for photos are a major deal breaker or deal getter. If you have a photo with family or friends, or half nude shots, it may be best to exclude those from the actual portfolio you bring with you to auditions. Make sure most of the photos in your portfolio are of you. Always have a head shot. Keep in mind also that if you are going to negotiate with any modeling contracts to know what is offered. Decisions do not have to be made at the sight of the audition. You can take a day to think things over. Also, be prepared for a shoot at auditions. Some agencies and companies do take polaroid of you, so when setting up the audition make sure you know what the client expects you to bring to auditions. Always be prepared. Another great tip is to not only bring the right clothing, but bring your make-up and hair stuff with you. If pictures are taken and you feel that you need to freshen up beforehand. It is always best to have easy access to your own make up and beauty things. Again, be prepared. And last but certainly not least timing in this industry is everything. The co-fact on why some models make it and some don’t is they come prepared and on time. On time in entertainment means 15 minutes before your audition. I hope this helps! Now go out there and get yourself an audition!
